Apple Glean Heads Up 10-17-15

Giving You a Heads Up

Haywood Gleaners is sponsoring a special glean just for kids and families!

Please bring out the kids, parents, grandparents, anyone interested in having a lot of fun picking some wonderfully delicious apples. And you’ll be helping others as well as yourself. What could be better than that?

Don’t worry about kids not reaching the apples, we shake the tree and lots of them fall to the ground for easy pickup.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 17 – Stay Tuned, details to follow.

Anyone under 18 will need a liability form signed by a parent or guardian. You can download, print and sign the form to bring to the glean location. The form is available on our website HERE. We will also have blank forms at the glean site.

Hope to see you all there!

Tomatoes in the Rain

Posted by on Sep 26, 2015 in news | Comments Off on Tomatoes in the Rain

Not rain nor . . . well not rain, anyway, will deter the Gleaners from their field duties. We had a fun time in the mist today gleaning some beautiful red cherry tomatoes on the Christopher Farm. Thanks to all who braved the elements to come out and pick tomotoes! And we found a small bird’s nest in and among the little tomatoes. Very cute.
